Stellantis to recall about 1.2 million vehicles in the U.S. due to a disabled electronic stability control system which can increase the risk of a vehicle crash.
On Saturday the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) said Stellantis-owned Chrysler is recalling 1,227,808 U.S. vehicles as a disabled electronic stability control system in the vehicles can increase the risk of a crash.
Chrysler is part of the “Big Three” automobile manufacturers in the United States. It is a subsidiary of the multinational automotive company Stellantis. North American company Stellantis sells vehicles worldwide under Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram Trucks. The Chrysler Corporation was founded by Walter Chrysler in 1925.

Previously Chrysler subsidiary of Stellantis in July 2024 recalled tens of thousands of hybrid vehicles due to the possibility of battery fires. “The events are linked to a rare abnormality in individual cells of the model’s high-voltage battery pack,” said Stellantis in the statement. And on Saturday NHTSA said Stellantis to recall about 1.2 million vehicles in the U.S.
“Due to a software malfunction, the anti-lock brake system (ABS) control module may disable the electronic stability control system,” said NHTSA in a statement. It said that dealers will update the anti-lock brake system control module software as a remedy.
Stellantis also said they are recalling 32,863 Jeep Gladiator vehicles manufactured between the year 2020-2024, and Jeep Wrangler vehicles manufactured between the year 2018-2024 as the instrument panel cluster in the vehicles may experience an internal short circuit.
